Obituary of Gerald Beverley Johnston

Peacefully at home on Monday, February 17. Gerald (Jerry), 85. Sweetheart of Lois (Hudson) for 60 years. Dearest dad of Howard (Edie). Dear pop of Stuart (Maryann). Caring grandpa of Crystal and Steven. Big brother of Shirley Bradish and Barb and Jim McLachlan. Brother in law of Helen Munro and Marion Hudson. Nephew of dear aunts, Madaline, Aldene, Mabel and Glo. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his mother Helen Lawson (2012); father Harry Johnston (1938); stepfather Ivan Wright (1989); brothers in law Ed Bradish (2010), Ron Munro (2011), Robert Hudson (2015) and Leslie Hudson (2018). Jerry was employed for 46 years with CNR and together with Lois they operated Johnston's Variety in Avon for 19 years. At Jerry's request, cremation has taken place. No visitation or service. Private interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the War Amps, 2827 Riverside Drive, Ottawa, ON K1V 8N4, VON - St Thomas (Elgin - Middlesex), 175 S.
