My condolences to his family. Peter was a lovely person. Did not know him well, but his wife Marilyn was my favourite teacher growing up in Belmont. My mother and I talked to them both at the United Church foot clinic many times. He will be missed.

I had the privilege of meeting Peter when I attended Belmont United Church last year. We sat next to eachother at a few services. He reminded me a lot of my own grandfather who had recently passed. Peter was a kind, friendly man and I am thankful to have made his acquaintance. Rest in Peace, Mr. Moore.

Our deepest sympathy to Michael & Trudy, Mark & Shiela, Amanda, Austin, Jim & Elsie, Paul & Amanda and Nicholas.
Your dad, brother, father-in-law, grandpa, and Uncle Pete was one of the most kind and friendly people I have ever known. Always a smile and a story or two about things you didn't know!
Written below are the words written many years ago by Peter’s mother Evelyn Lavina Poole Moore but thought there might be a lot of what Peter accomplished in his amazing early life that you may not know. Amazing!
In 1952 Peter won the Elgin Holstein Club Past Presidents Award and the Belmont United Church Sunday School Award for eleven years of regular attendance. Peter attended HB Beal Technical School, majoring in Motor Mechanics. He was awarded a Dominion Provincial Bursary in Grade 12 and in Grade 13 enrolled in the Vocational Pre-Engineers Course afftee which he was employed by Plested Equipment for several years. Peter was a member of the London Flying Club and received his Wings & Private Pilots License in 1960. Peter enrolled at Ridgetown Agricultural School where he met his future wife Marilyn Lyons. While at WOAS, Peter won the Atkinson Charitable Foundation Bursary. Upon graduation Peter travelled extensively with Massey-Ferguson Engineering engaged in research and engineering in the testing of prototypes throughout the entire USA. After many years travelling, once flying over Michigan and into Ontario, Peter decided that home was best and he and his brother Jim purchased a 100 acre farm. Peter & Marilyn we're married at Avon United Church on June 1, 1965. Peter became the first President of the Belmont & District Junior Farmers Club and was also an avid curler. Peter & Marilyn expanded into beef at Wiletta Farms. Peter and Jim had about 60 head and also a farrow to finish swine operation. Wiletta was then 250 acres.
Michael Peter was born on February 25, 1969 and Mark James was born on April 30, 1972 and we are praying and thinking of them and their families at this difficult time. This picture of Peter was taken on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at the Annual MacFarlane Picnic (our direct ancestors) at Pinafore Park. Al Kaiser and Grandson Jack are sitting happily. RIP our dear cousin. Thank you for all you taught us in this lifetime. ❤️
