Please share a memory of Donna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Donna Grace Aicken (Tinning) passed away December 15, 2023 at the age of 85, after a courageous battle with various health issues. Donna was affectionately known as Mrs. A by many, and Harold by a special few. Predeceased by her parents, brothers, partner Bruce Johnston, and great-granddaughter Gianna. Lovingly remembered by her children, Gregg (Karen) of Priddis, AB; Steve (Dixie)of Windermere, BC; and Jayne (John) Fuller of Dorchester. She leaves behind loving memories with her grandchildren, Heather (Phil), Kelsey (Naor), and Shaun (Hannah) Aicken of Alberta, along with Quinn (Ashley) of Queen Creek, Arizona and Whitney (Jason) of Woodstock. She was a proud and supportive Great-Grandma to Olivia, Ethan & Zachary Zloty; Ilai & Alma Cohen; Finley, CJ, Mila, Erynn & Annie Fuller, who she was so happy to spend the past Thanksgiving with, along with Brielle Crawford, who she loved sharing snuggles with. Checking up on the all the kids’ latest activities and accomplishments was part of her daily routine. Anyone who was part of the Dorchester community in the 60’s and early 70’s will remember Donna as a proprietor of Olympia Bowl, where she spent endless hours organizing youth and adult leagues, serving up meals, and running the day-to-day operations. She was also a dedicated member of the DDAA and the Girl’s Fastball League. Most of her summers were spent at area baseball diamonds cheering on her favourite youth teams. Any day on a golf course was a good day for Donna. She also cherished her days as a member of the Ladies’ bowling league. On any given Thursday night, if you experience a thunderstorm, listen carefully afterwards, you just might hear the laughter of the TNBB’s. She could often be seen puttering in her gardens, ensuring everything was kept just right as it was a source of pride and joy for her and others. Always an avid sports fan, her TV was usually tuned in to follow her beloved Blue Jays, Leafs and Raptors, curling events or golf tournaments. Donna’s family would like to thank Dorchester Terrace and staff for their unwavering support over the past year. You went above and beyond for Mom’s care. Also, a big thank you to those that visited and checked in on her. A private family Inurnment and celebration of life to be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Sakura House, Alexandra Hospital or PHA Canada in her honour.
