Mr Thompson was one of my favourite teachers from LDSS. I can't say enough how in shock I am at the moment. I will have so many great memories of my times in his automotive shop classes and outside the school seeing him around Dorchester area after school finished. It was a great honour knowing him. Condolences to the entire family.

Mr Thompson was one of my favourite teachers at Lord Dorchester. He was kind, patient, intelligent, funny and demonstrated enthusiasm for his craft. I was lucky enough to have him for an automotive teacher and home room teacher. He will be missed. The world is a better place because of Lorne Thompson.

Barb, Chris, Robert & Sarah!
I am sorry that I will not be able to be at the memorial for Lorne on Saturday. However, I did want you to know that over the years Lorne and I had many conversations, trades and recollections over baseball, cards, stock cars, music and any other areas of common interest. He had always wanted to take a joint trip to Oswego or Sandusky to enjoy some good old super modified racing. Unfortunately we never made it happen. These were enjoyable times with him and I will remember them fondly. It was nice to read Kevin Glew's notes about Lorne being his ball coach.
Phyllis and I wish to express our sincere sympathy to all of you and wish you to know that others do care.

Lorne was a dedicated teacher, down to earth, who always told you how it was. He was appreciated and respected by his students and was a valued colleague amongst the TVDSB automotive teachers. Our condolences to his family.
